I am a doula on a mission to make the world a more equitable place, families and parents feel supported through every transition, and for every human to feel seen, heard, and safe. I have a background in social work and advocacy. My unique worldview informs my doula practice. I love to listen intentionally and serve clients from the heart. I am humbled in supporting clients and feel so honored each time I am privileged to provide doula support.
Top three favorite bands/musicians: Kali Uchis, Jorja Smith, Kacey Musgraves.
Theme song: Inner Peace by Beautiful Chorus
I joined mumda for the continued doula education, mentorship support and team-based approach to supporting clients. I always feel confident that if I don’t know an answer to a question or a resource for a client, one of my colleagues does. Being a part of mumda allows me to competently serve clients, with a holistic approach.
Doula philosophy and approach: Overall, I serve clients with an intention of love. I utilize an empowerment and client-centered approach. This means when my clients face decisions, I provide as much evidence-based information as possible- exploring all available options- so the client can make an informed decision. I then support the clients choice, regardless of my own opinion. If I do not provide a service or know an answer to a question, I know someone who does, and will go above and beyond to find the resource to fit the client’s need or answer to the client’s question. I aim to create an atmosphere of support and safety as clients find their autonomy and answers already held within themselves.
Areas of education/training: Certified Birth Doula, CD(DONA) (DONA International). Slow Doula Method (DTI); Hydrotherapy for laboring (BEAM); Trauma-informed doula practice (Kenya Fairley).
